Thank you all very much for all attending the event at the Soca Cheta Community Hub on the 22nd October 2022, as always, it was greatly appreciated.
A special thanks to Shakira and Maureen from Calabash Soiree who arranged the entertainment and well-being activities. The Memory Mashup quiz and chair exercises were enjoyed by all our senior attendees.
It was great to hear about the life experiences, as told by the young people and elderly who attended the event. Hope that you are putting all the money boxes to good use! and remember to make use of the Credit Union. As the Jamaican saying goes, 'every mickle make a muckle' meaning; small things when combined, can have a big effect.
But most of all I would like to acknowledge and offer a very heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all those who have gone before us, because without their sacrifices and experiences we may not be in the position we are in today. May we all continue to honour them.

What can I say,
We only dedicate one month of year for Black History it should be something we do all the time.
The person who gave the talk Janet, who does this on a voluntary basis in her time, she is very passionate about our community and the next generation coming up.
We as a Black Community at times need help and advice in relation to Debt and Housing which she also specialises in. We tend to ask for help as a last resort and do not discuss issues such as debt.
The Event that took place at Soca Cheta was highly informative, fun, and relaxing. She made you feel that you were talking to your mother. With her wealth of knowledge and experience because of this people were incredibly open about their own situation regarding Debt, Saving, and Housing e.t.c. We also learnt about First Riot in Thornton Health Croydon
We were all given money box for adults and for those with children to start saving for our future. We all left with something to tell a friend, family, or stranger.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words!
Janet you are an amazing person, you care about people thats what makes you unique im proud to know you, may you go from strength to strength
